La Société de Compactage meets l'art contemporain

It's unexpected where the pursuit of art will take you. Sometimes, like me this past saturday, you might find yourself in a scrap yard in Nice's east side, staring into a few-metres-high portrait of Michael Jackson.

The exhibit, oraganized by art-enthusiast and consultant Brigitte Argième, features the works of fashion photographer, Arno Bani, video artist, Yosef Joseph Dadoune, street artist, Klone, and painter/installation artist, Gilles Traquini

I personally really enjoyed the show, and was particularly drawn to the works of Klone, pictured above. My only regret is that he didn't undertake a larger, more immersive piece, but only because I wanted more interaction with his images.

Besides that, the setting re-focused the works and I found the pairing of fine art with consumerist carnage, flawless. Brigitte's idea of exhibiting large-scale reproductions alongside their smaller originals was also unique.

Overall a well-thought out exhibition worth good look.
